November and December have seen a change to the skyline at Kingston Upon Thames. Having been on site dealing with the double basement for nearly a year, we are finally seeing the superstructure take shape. Works remain on programme for a completion of this 420 pupil primary school and 19 unit apartment block for November 2022.

A topping out ceremony has taken place for the 190-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Gloucester. This follows the completion of the roof and the building being made watertight in lie with the programme. The project remains on programme to complete in time for an August 2022 student intake.

Good progress being made with the double basement excavation for the new primary school and residential new build at Kingston.
Michael Beverley, Managing Director of MM Management said ‘ We are nearly complete with the double basement excavation. This job was a long time in the planning and the temporary works and propping systems in place have been complex to work out. Working on a tight site with the railway embankment on the edge has thrown up a number of challenges and it is good to see the results of all this hard work. It will be some months yet before all the ground works and foundations are complete to allow the above ground structure to commence. ‘
The project is still on programme to complete by November 2022.

MM Management are delighted to announce the appointment of John McGuinness as a new Director of the business.
John joins MM Management with over 20 years experience in Building Surveying, Project Management and Quality Monitoring. John will be straight into work picking up new projects at Widnes and Stockport.
During the excavation works on the new student accommodation site in Gloucester, the remains of the old Roman city wall was uncovered.
One part of the wall was untouched, another part looks to have been pushed over into the ditch that would have ran around the wall. The site is known to have been part of the Roman settlement and also used in Norman times.
During the excavations musket balls thought to be from the time of the English Civil war were also found. Read more in the Archaeologist’s report here.
Works have started on phase 2 of the near 500 bed student accommodation scheme in Gloucester. The project will complete the scheme of 6 blocks over a former car park site.
Works have started on site for the construction of a new 420 pupil primary school with 19 residential apartments above at Kingston, London. Works are due to complete November 2022.

Chris Hextall joined in January 2020 as a Board Director and will help MM Management increase the services offered by heading up Quantity Surveying. Chris will also cover our core services of project management and employers agent.
Dylan Lindsay joined as a surveyor in March 2020. Dylan’s workload will cover site inspections, quality monitoring and quantity surveying support.
A key milestone has been reached on this project with a full planning application now submitted for the 250 bed purpose built student accommodation scheme.
A decision is expected in 3rd quarter 2020 in time for a proposed site start early 2021.
We are up and running on the design development for the new build 440 pupil primary school in Kingston. The design stage will run until August when works are programmed to start on site for a 2nd quarter 2022 completion.
The planning consent for this development has now been altered to allow the units to be sold on completion, rather than rented. We will now progress to detailed design with a view to taking this development to site this year.
